We have many years of experience in furniture design, especially bespoke fitted furniture for period properties in the Buckinghamshire area.
We mainly design and install beautiful hand-crafted furniture, which is made in the rural workshop of Alan Cooper Cabinetmaker in Ford Village near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK.
Our biggest specialism is bespoke fitted bedroom and dressing-room furniture; for more information please see bucksbedrooms.uk
Our fitted furniture service is available within a 25 mile radius of Aylesbury.
We can obtain a wide range of high quality materials which are responsibly sourced.
We use a wide range of hardware and fittings, generally preferring to use traditional hinges for their strength and reliability. We can use the drawer runners of your choice or design the construction to use more traditional methods.
Alan Cooper is Design Manager for A&C Designs Ltd and also Director of Alan Cooper Cabinetmaker Ltd.
He qualified as a furniture designer and maker in 1984 at Rycotewood College in Thame before working with a local bespoke furniture company. He set up his first workshop near Waddesdon and his experience has included high-class joinery, kitchen furniture manufacture and installation, winding staircases, reproduction cabinets with special veneers, most types of fitted and free-standing furniture with a high level of attention to detail and contributing to the renovation of period properties.
His design methods have evolved from the traditional drawing board to Turbocad 2d, to Turbocad 3d, to Sketchup pro and for the last few years has preferred to use FormZ Pro as it is quick to use and so versatile.

producing a virtual model for the cabinetmakers to construct from, which enables us to accurately design every detail carefully drawing from long experience of the techniques of furniture construction and well-balanced aesthetics.
If required, we can communicate with our customers during the design process, mainly by email, sending illustrations produced from the CAD model so that together, we achieve the perfect solutions for our customers.
We can either start from a ‘blank canvas’ or adapt from an existing model in our library of previous designs.
